Tiffany singh
For our artist talk for today we have Tiffany singh who is an artist born from Newzealand, her nationality is Indian, Maori and Samoan. graduated in university with a bachelor degree at Elam Tiffany did not know anything about her background heritage. During her art practice, she has worked her practice through her cultural differences. such as India, so during her practice, she went to India with out any knowledge about the culture history, stayed there for three in a half years, to learn more about the indian culture, What we have learned from Tiffany is that most of her work is through colours, In india colours are important to their culture, colour is sacred, each gave a meaning g or symbol, in our artist talk she showed us photographs of of her work, such as the work through casting with wax, her three religious icons, Indian, Maori and Samoa. The sculptures are cover by spices, and placed in a geometric grid in the floor with rice and soil, Her sculptures of all types of religions really caught my eye, i love how her work is base on faith, using wax sculpture is really a n interesting and unique aspect through the art world. very admirable how she represents three variety or nationalities India, Maori Samoa. which is very inspiring to the art world.,
Tiffany's other work of the wax sculptures, of the table of exchange, found it interesting, and appealing, how people would really exchange their personal value for a wax sculpture, its something you dont see that often, well actually this is similar to Dion hitchens practice from the installation of paper , cardboard and other object installation, although for Tiffany singh, i really admire and respect her works, I personally love it. because of how she creates her work through faith and different religions. and how the icons was made, oil paint. giving it a nice colour effect. i guess her work is base on an exploration of her identity, know who she is, where she came from.

Debborah Crowe
Debborah Crowe, born in year 1963 raised in Dundee scotland, an artist at MSVA, from scotland,Crowe's practice is based on acetechture work.during her artist talk, she presented us of work she has done, art piece made out of fabrication, with technique of weaving and turns. amd textiles, however it is often manisests in variety of contexts and out put.During her practice she has done alsot of drawings through the body, whih she has interests of and creating distorted imagesof the body in a positive way, which is similar to emma Mclellan's work of mustation of animals.Drawing is really important to her practice, Debborah woud observe the body , planning is an aspect through her work. What i think of her work, it is very complex, way through a graphical view. Debborah uses allot of environmental space when creating her art works,

If you look more closely to the fabric, you can see every detail and how much time and effort she had to accomplish these three woven pieces . i really admire the time spent with these beautiful works, would be nice to wear for women's fashion industry, im sure Lady Gaga would love to wear this for her music videos.
I love how the colour of the fabric is a nice dark /light colour grey, it gives that really nice strong look to it which i like about this piece.

Debborah's work through architecture , i see that she uses allot of computer graphic aspect and plannings through drawings, she also uses allot of bridges and environment space and recycled materials to create her work, it is interesting of her to use recycled materials , but to thionk of it many artists uses recycles pieces to create art, for example, Dion Hitchens, his work of the installation of ther recycled paper, cardboard . but still debborah's work has given me inspiration to creat my own work and try incorperate style and ideas.

Emma Mclellan
Emma Mclellan an artist who is working through screen printing which she also has an interest in history of screen prints and books of animals, who especially loves to think about odd animals like animals that are born incorrectly which i find rather interesting and bizarre why a female artist would find abnormal mutated animals fascinating because most females would react in anegative way. When Emma creates her print works, she loves to use panel rather than paper, because she finds it much easier .Emma draws animals mostly imperfectly and mutated , When she does her screen prints she uses a soliwet techneque through her screen prints.Another way when she explores her art is that she scans the pictures of animals from a book and photoshops it and re mashes and uses cut and paste when mutating the animals which she really loves doing.

Another Artist who works through screen print is an artist name, Xavier Meade, who is an contemporary artists he creates prints through poster making, design poster of myths and legends of culture beliefs of Christianity and stories. base from mexico and and english Maori. ,Xavier collects poster in year 1920s, year 1959 and is an artist researcher. in Mexico the art work Xavier produces, are all hand drawn, cause of the issue of price of paper, cannot afford large paper for printing so they are drawn by hand, which is really difficult to achieve a perfect image. Most art work were drawn in A4 size.

Dion Hitchens
Dion Hitchens bron in year 1973 nationality , Chinese and maori, Hitchens is a contemporary artist, his theme in art is mostly through engagement, collaboration with other artists and creating wonderful art.
For Dion's art talk, he showed us his art work he had created with collaboration with other two atists , James Ormsby and Bill Rilley. who are also contemporary artists, james i s actually a postgraduate in painting but although he has engaged himself with a variety of media. What i like about Dion Hitchens , James Ormsby and Bill Rilley's art work is that its not some art work you don't see everyday, its rather interesting in my point of view, because Im sure not everyone can create art like them. James Ormsby, his work with the z2+c he presented to our class, really got me thinkingm what is that mathematical equation got to do with art, but when James Ormsb y explained that this equation is symbolised a form of an art piece and when i tried researching it myself, i got to the result saying that this is the infinite beauty of the Mandelbrot along with photos.
This work created by Dion Hitchens, James Ormsby and Bill Rilley ,the diamond installation is one of my favorite art works they have created, this really dazzles me, just starring at shinny objects catches my eye. I admire how they took so much time and effort on attaching each piece all together by using stainless steel, an laminated glass (Marquette). The installation of the recycled paper, drawings ,cardboard, and many other objects and materials. the way Dion placed each objects, sort of random. as for my opinion on this installation art piece , i f find pretty dull but when you take photo of that installation, is really does look like a really nice fascinating piece of art. It is interesting how anyone can come over and exchange objects or materials or just donate a very interesting way of making an installation nice and creative.

Eldon Booth
Eldon Booth, is a film maker, in his films he tries to use a variety of ideas or techneques to portray that cinematic field to his filming. and give it a that reality aspect to it. One of Edlon's films, had created which i liked was, the scene where he filmed his grand dad at the hospital, where when he was filming that scene, i realised that it was sort of filmed in a amature look but in a way the scenes and the acting was pretty good, it felt like i was actually there in that scene , the way he shot the footage having me to feel like it was reality. Most of Eldon's ways in filming mostly used through experimental elements , while using drama and documentary techniques through his filming and shooting his footages, with a combination of fantasy and reality.
One film that portrays the lines of fact and fiction, is the Da vinci code, as in the film, how Tom Hanks , the main actor of the film, discovers fact about the painting of the Da Vinci , a discovery of a secret society for two thousand years , which i think is absolutely base on fiction. i guess i can relate this film to Eldon's work through illusions , how he achieved this is that he used editing techniques, one of the techniques he used was, split screen shots and counter shot which is a technique where one character is shown looking at another character..

The film Elephant by Gaus Van Sants, is similar to Eldon's work, through fact and fiction, and how Eldson;s film with draw , where the scene at the hospital , the video man is filming the situation, when you watch that scene, it makes you feel like your actually there and having that reality feeling insde. Gaus Van saints also has that feel of reality and having that feeling that yoru actually in the movie.,
