Eldon Booth

Eldon Booth, is a film  maker,  in his films he tries to use  a variety  of  ideas  or techneques to  portray that cinematic field to   his filming. and  give it a that reality aspect  to it. One of Edlon's films, had created which i liked was, the scene where he filmed his grand dad at the hospital, where when he was filming that scene, i realised that it was sort of filmed  in a amature  look but in a way the scenes and the acting was pretty  good, it felt like i was  actually there in that scene , the way   he shot the footage having me to feel like it was reality. Most of  Eldon's ways in filming mostly used through  experimental elements , while using drama and documentary techniques through his filming and shooting his footages, with a combination of fantasy and reality.
One  film that portrays  the lines of fact and fiction, is  the Da vinci code, as in the film, how  Tom Hanks , the main actor of the film, discovers fact about the painting of the Da Vinci , a discovery of a secret  society for two thousand  years , which i think is absolutely  base on fiction. i guess i can  relate this film to  Eldon's work through illusions , how he achieved this is that he used editing techniques, one of the techniques he  used  was, split  screen shots and counter shot which is a  technique  where  one character is shown looking at another character..

The film Elephant by  Gaus Van Sants, is similar to Eldon's work,  through fact and fiction, and how Eldson;s  film with draw , where the scene  at the hospital , the video man is filming the situation, when you watch that scene, it makes you feel like your actually there and having that reality feeling insde.  Gaus Van saints  also has that feel of reality and having that feeling that yoru actually in the  movie.,

  1. Thanks Ronald,

A number of times you have mentioned that a film "makes you feel like it was reality." How does it achieve this? Is it through the camera angle, the lighting, the dialogue, the editing? Try to be specific in your descriptions.

Also, while the Da Vinci Code might be made to look real but based on fiction, is it actually shot to look like a documentary? Most film's are shot so that what takes place in them is "believable" or "realistic". But not many are shot to appear like REAL LIFE. District 9 is a good example, so is the TV series The Office. Can you think of more examples like this?
