Steve Rood photography

Steve Rood is a photographer, Rood has used element of  light with  a unique way, by using high exposure  through his photographs and installations. He has also  used  high exposure  to have that blurry fade, effect  through his photographs. He has used editing for his photos so it can stand out more clearly and effectively  through  the high exposure settings. Other than Rood using light and high exposure  through his photography, Rood  has used the element of dark through his photos. with the combination of light and dark. For me  as a photographer myself,  listening to Steve Rood's lecture  has  given  me an understanding of  his photographs, why he  does his photographs that way. After looking through his photographs from  his website he presented to us during his lecture ,  and explaining how  he started to  have passion on photography and how he got his experience on  photography in a early age where when he was child. For  Rood's photography portfolio, he
has explored his photographs in a experimental  way, examples of works  he  has made  is, "Shadow  makers" , " Live your life", and "Ritual". these are some examples of the works  he  has created. I really admire his type of photographs he takes, and  his story of how he  has started his passion on photography and becoming a photography artist, it is a inspiration to me.
The website Steve Rood presented to us shows  works he has done from his past years of advertisement
explaining how he started  engaging to the photography industry . comparison   to his other websites which  he shows works of his  photography, which i mentioned earlier,  elements of  Light   and dark. For some of his work,, for me  for comparison, it seems like he has used painting  as a element through his photographs.

  1. Hi Ronald,

While this is a good response to Steve's lecture, what you haven't done is take the information a step further by doing some extra research.

The point of these entries is not just to repeat what you saw in class, but take that information and use it as a "leaping off point" for finding new information. As a photographer I would expect you to find other similar photographers to Rood, or to talk about some of the technical issues, or issues around technology, digital, etc... that Steve had raised.

Try to get a balance between what was discussed in class, and your own personal investigation.

  3. Hi Ronald,

It's best not to edit old entries because I have already marked you, and then it will become difficult and confusing if I have to REmark all the entries. Rather, the best thing to do is use those comments to help guide you with your next entries.
